Adelyn Tan
The arts has always been a part of Adelyn Tan's life – be it literary, film or theatre. Since the age of seven, she has been putting pen to paper, focusing on prose and dabbling in poetry and playwriting. She fell in love with the local theatre scene in 2013 and strove to be a part of it ever since. She strongly believes in the power of art to do good and tries to live by the credo 'to love and to serve'.

Research interests: intersections of art and history, linguistics, philosophy, sociology and current sociopolitical issues.

Positive impacts of a digital archive of local theatrical ephemera: a case study of Centre 42's Repository
The Repository programme has been one of Centre 42's mainstays since its inception in 2015. It is a digital archive containing theatrical ephemera from various local theatre productions over the past decades, including programmes, brochures and tickets. It is one of numerous digital theatrical archives in the local and international archival landscape. Such archives are time-consuming and labour-intensive to create and maintain, and justifying the resources spent on them requires understanding the necessity of such archives. Through interviews with relevant professionals in the theatre field, surveys with archive users, and an extensive literature review, this dissertation explores the positive impacts the Repository has on various segments of the local theatre community and how these impacts can translate over to other similar archives, serving to make a case for their importance in the theatrical and archival community.
