Joeve Lio Shi Shi
Joeve Lio strongly believes in the potential of both people and art. Her satisfaction lies in the process of art-making and making meaningful art happen with people and for people. Joeve is also a freelance drama educator – she can be found working with children and youths. She also manages her own Playback Theatre collective with a team of Playbackers.

Relationship between socially engaged artist and community: influences on participation
Placing focus between the artist and community, this study aims to understand the relationship of artist and community and how their interaction influences their participation in socially engaged artworks. Socially engaged arts is participatory and collaborative, the role of both artist and community and their interactions will have a stake in the process of work. As such, this relationship between both will, therefore, have a substantial impact on the project. Ultimately, the research hopes to develop insights and robust systems of support for socially engaged works. By informing relevant stakeholders of the possible gap, it can then open up more possibilities to create more needs-centric socially engaged works.
