After interning with a start-up streaming service, Veena is now interested in the curation of streaming media content and research and hopes to pursue a career in this sector.

Challenges faced by video-on-demand services in Singapore: case studies on iWonder and HOOQ
Online video-on-demand streaming services are rapidly gaining popularity and successfully competing with the traditional television broadcast industry. It is a billion-dollar industry and that figure is only expected to grow in the next few years. However, there are already some streaming giants like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix operating here in Singapore. Can newer businesses like iwonder and HOOQ work towards success here? What are the challenges that they face and what can they do to overcome those? Through case studies on iwonder and HOOQ, this research aims to identify and discuss these findings through semi-structured interviews with industry professionals and a survey of the literature.
